Cellulization – Identification of new Areas for Cable Network Expansion
TV Cabo, 2006
This project involves the identification of new areas for the expansion of cable networks, said areas that must be subject to engineering criteria, land use and marketing and economic viability. An initial study was done, at the office level, using orthophotomaps and statistical data with the objective of finding potential areas of interest. These potential areas of interest were classified according to their location, the existence of natural and/or administrative barriers, land use, population density, etc. These areas of interest then underwent land surveys with the purpose of detailing the existing dwellings (utilization, number of floors and landings, name of the road, and door number). Finally, and based on the data collected in the field, an economic viability analysis was done by correlating the population density with the cost of installing a cable network.
